Kick-Off Meeting

Use your kick-off meeting to discuss how your team views the current website and envisions the new one. It is important to understand how the team views the project:

  • Scope
  • Vision
  • Goals
  • Users
  • Content

Discussion topics at your kick-off meeting should include:

  • The site’s audience
  • Users' main scenarios
  • Whether the current site meets users’ needs

For additional guidance, download Questions to Ask at Kick-Off-Meetings (DOC - 157KB) (PDF - 33KB).

For your website to be successful, your team needs to understand the site’s actual users and their needs. As you evaluate your current site, learn about your users, and conduct task analysis, keep track of any differences between what you find and what your team thinks and be sure to share your findings with your team.
